Vanilla lutescens is also known as Vanilla pompona or Vanilla grandiflora, in reference to the large yellow-green flowers appearing from winter to early spring. Native to Central and South America, the leaves of Vanilla lutescens are oval and broad. Vanilla orchids are epiphytic climbers that put out aerial roots to capture water and nutrients. Vanilla lutescens prefers humidity, indirect sunlight, and temperatures over 50 degrees. They require a substrate with excellent drainage and constant moisture.
